Inspire Design were commissioned by McCarthy & Stone to prepare the feasibility and concept design to seek planning permission for the demolition of the existing Orchards Office building in Llanishen, Cardiff  to make way for a modern fresh take on housing. The development will consist of 52 car parking spaces, and a mix of, 52 Assisted Living and 36 Retirement Living, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, with associated communal living areas, to support the growing demand for assisted and retirement living accommodation within the area. A contrasting base with clean stretcher brickwork punctuated by rendered vertical bays, recessed balconies and parapet flat roofs, the building successfully integrates into the street scene. Construction is now complete on the Retirement Living apartments.
