Inspire were appointed by our client Tesco, to undertake the Concept Design of a food store on the site of this former hospital and cattle market in the market town of Tenbury Wells. The environmental store design responds to its location within the town by creating a memory of the site use in the architecture and incorporating symbols of the locality’s historic trade in hops. The access and car park were created as a shared space for cars and pedestrians to encourage the connection with the immediate town street scape and the river edge.
